ALTEN is accelerating its development in Africa around two complementary locations: Morocco, the foundation of its operations with more than 2,200 employees serving 13 countries, and Senegal, which will have 380 employees by the end of 2026. Together, these two entities are paving the way for a future Africa Hub.
Morocco, the Foundation of Expertise for African Operations
Since 2008, ALTEN Morocco has established itself as an offshore and nearshore center of excellence, whose experience and maturity now enable it to drive the group's regional development. With more than 2,200 employees and a target of 2,500 engineers by 2027, the entity serves 13 of the more than 30 countries covered by the ALTEN Group, as well as sub-Saharan Africa.
This maturity is primarily based on the depth of its expertise. Since 2024, ALTEN Morocco has hosted the group's center of excellence dedicated to artificial intelligence applied to industry. Its teams work particularly on digital twins, embedded AI, and the optimization of industrial processes and supply chains. The partnership agreement signed in July 2026 with three Moroccan ministries to develop skills in AI and the Industry of the Future further strengthens this positioning.
Investment in training is another asset: in 2025, the ALTEN Academy provided nearly 37,000 hours of training to more than 1,300 employees. Finally, ALTEN Morocco has diversified its portfolio of international clients, supporting them across five ecosystems: automotive, aeronautics, digital and IT, retail, AI and industry.
Senegal, a Regional Ambition
Far from being a simple extension of the Moroccan model, ALTEN Senegal is developing its own specialties and fully contributing to strengthening the group's African operations. Established in 2025, the entity already has nearly 250 employees and operates in networks and telecommunications, IT, and industrial engineering. It has established partnerships with twelve Senegalese schools and universities to train talent in these fields. Its growth continues: ALTEN Senegal will have 380 employees by the end of 2026, followed by 500 in 2027, creating skilled jobs for local talent.
This expansion is supported by a strong investment in talent. ALTEN Senegal is launching work-study programs with these institutions to prepare tomorrow's engineers in line with market needs. The ALTEN Academy also supports the development of teams, while the transfer of expertise from Morocco accelerates their skills development. Joint certifications will soon align the standards of the two entities.
This development is consistent with Senegal Vision 2050 and the ambition to make Dakar a regional center of excellence in West Africa.
“After several years as a project manager at ALTEN in France, I seized the opportunity to join Senegal and help establish the subsidiary. Returning to my home country to build a team was a significant choice, both professionally and personally. To move quickly, we relied on ALTEN Morocco's experience, methods, and tools, while developing our own expertise. Today, seeing young Senegalese engineers develop their skills and work on international projects is my greatest source of pride,” says Marie Thérèse KAN, Project Manager at ALTEN Senegal.
An Africa Hub Built on Resource Sharing
The Morocco–Senegal structure represents a first step toward a more integrated pan-African model. In practical terms, the Africa Hub is based on sharing skills, pooling tools and processes, coordinating teams, and the ability to support new developments across the continent. By working with the same methods, tools, and quality standards, the two entities can distribute projects according to their specialties and rapidly scale up operations.
Two projects already illustrate this organization. For a telecommunications client, ALTEN Morocco provided knowledge transfer and supported the scaling up of Senegalese teams, which then took charge of project implementation. The client praised the continuity of service and the quality of deliverables. In the retail sector, the two entities jointly produce client projects involving commercial systems, distribution, and supply chains.
For clients, this model translates into broader talent pools and stronger delivery capabilities. It combines the agility and complementary strengths of the two locations with cultural and linguistic proximity to both Europe and Africa. For employees, it opens up new opportunities, whether through academic partnerships, training programs, mobility between the two countries, or career development.
“Our ambition is clear: to make Morocco and Senegal the pillars of an African structure that creates value for our clients and opportunities for our talent. By combining the experience, capabilities, and expertise of our two locations, we are strengthening our performance today while preparing ALTEN's expansion across the continent,” says Didier MARCHET, Director of the ALTEN Group's Offshore Centers.
