Morocco has been selected to host the preliminary phase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament, a decisive stage in the race to qualify for the competition scheduled to take place in Brazil.

Scheduled from November 28 to December 5, this phase will bring together six national teams from different confederations: South Africa, Chinese Taipei, Ecuador, Ghana, Uzbekistan, and Papua New Guinea. Nine matches will be played in Rabat to determine the two teams that will advance to the final phase of the Play-Off Tournament, scheduled for February 2027.

The matches will take place at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, which is also hosting the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2026.

The opening day schedule features three matches: Uzbekistan against Papua New Guinea, Chinese Taipei against South Africa, and Ghana against Ecuador. Each team will play three matches, after which the top two teams in the overall standings will secure their places in the final phase of the Play-Off Tournament.

This selection once again confirms Morocco’s position as a host of major international football competitions. The tournament represents an important step for the six participating nations, which will seek to continue their journey toward the 2027 Women’s World Cup, the first edition to be held in South America, in Brazil.
