Somalia will hold elections for both chambers of its Federal Parliament on April 15, 2027, followed by the presidential election on May 15 of the same year, the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) announced, according to the Somali News Agency (SONNA).

The Commission indicated that the electoral timetable was established in accordance with the Federal Constitution and the national electoral law.

Registration for political parties and voters is scheduled to reopen from November 1 to 22, 2026. The latter date also marks the deadline for submitting candidate lists for both chambers of Parliament.

The provisional electoral register will be published on January 21, 2027, in accordance with legal provisions requiring its publication within two months of the close of registration.

The final electoral register is scheduled to be made public on March 15, 2027, 30 days before the legislative elections, following verification and correction of the provisional register.
