Morocco's women's national team is preparing to take on a new challenge against one of Europe's leading women's football teams.

The Atlas Lionesses will face France on December 5 in Montbéliard in a friendly match as both teams prepare for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil.

The French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Thursday, October 15, that Les Bleues will also play Venezuela on November 27 in Nancy. Morocco will therefore be France's final confirmed opponent during this year-end international window.

Ranked 64th in the world, Morocco will have the opportunity to test itself against a French side currently preparing for the World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 24 to July 25, 2027. Meanwhile, Laurent Bonadei's team is coming off a convincing 9-0 victory over Latvia.

The December 5 match at Stade Bonal will be an important fixture for the Atlas Lionesses, giving them an opportunity to assess their level against a strong French team preparing for the major international tournament. Before this encounter, Les Bleues will face Venezuela, currently ranked 42nd in the FIFA rankings.

Between these two home fixtures, the French national team will also play an away match, with the opponent and venue to be announced at a later date.

The international calendar will then continue with the World Cup draw, scheduled for December 11, followed by the Nations League in February, April and June. For Morocco, this clash against France will provide a valuable opportunity to measure its capabilities against high-level opposition just months before its upcoming international commitments.
