Guinea’s economic growth is projected to reach 11.6% in 2027, up from an expected 8.8% in 2026, driven largely by the expansion of the Simandou mining project, according to local media citing the World Bank’s latest forecasts.
According to media reports referring to the recently published third edition of the Guinea Economic Update, this momentum is expected to continue in 2028, with growth projected at 10.7%.
Guinea’s economy expanded by 7.3% in 2025, supported by growth in the mining sector, particularly bauxite production, as well as a recovery in services and increased agricultural activity, FAAPA reported.
Meanwhile, inflation fell to 3.2% in 2025, helping to improve household purchasing power and reduce the poverty rate, according to the report.
