Guinea’s economy is expected to maintain strong growth momentum over the next two years, with a rate above 9% in 2026 and 2027, according to forecasts by the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Presented on the occasion of the publication of the AfDB’s annual report on Guinea’s economic outlook, these projections nevertheless highlight the need to better convert this growth into investments and sustainable benefits for the national economy.

"The message that emerges from this report is the need to continue efforts so that this economic growth can translate into positive investments,” stressed the AfDB’s Resident Representative in Guinea, Lawson Zankli Laté Dodji.

To achieve this, the AfDB notably recommends deepening Guinea’s financial sector through the development of new financing instruments, including the establishment of a sovereign wealth fund. Better mobilization of domestic savings is also considered necessary to support the Simandou 2040 programme.

Guinea’s Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget, Mariama Ciré Sylla, for her part, stressed the importance of strengthening domestic resource mobilization in order to sustainably support the country’s economic development.

Guinea recorded growth of 7.4% in 2025, compared with 5.7% in 2024, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
