Africa’s business community is preparing to converge on New York. More than 2,000 African and international business leaders, along with several heads of state, are expected in the U.S. metropolis on September 20 and 21 for the fifth edition of Unstoppable Africa, the flagship event of the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI).

Organized under the theme "Powering Business, Scaling Economies, Shaping the Future,” this new edition aims to bring together key economic and political players to discuss issues related to growth, investment and the transformation of African economies.

The meeting is convened by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf. It is organized by the United Nations Global Compact.

A Major Gathering for African Decision-Makers

For two days, political leaders, business executives, investors and other economic stakeholders are expected to discuss the drivers that could accelerate the continent’s development. Through this platform, the organizers notably aim to foster dialogue between the public and private sectors and create new opportunities for cooperation and investment. The choice of New York also gives the event an international dimension, with the aim of placing Africa’s economic prospects at the heart of discussions with major global players.

"Powering Business, Scaling Economies, Shaping the Future”

The theme of this fifth edition sums up its stated ambition: to empower businesses, scale up economies and help shape the continent’s economic future.

As African economies seek to strengthen their integration, attract more capital and develop high-value-added sectors, Unstoppable Africa aims to serve as a platform bringing together decision-makers, investors and entrepreneurs.

With more than 2,000 participants announced, the 2026 edition is expected to be one of the leading international gatherings dedicated to Africa’s economic prospects, with one central objective: to turn discussions about Africa’s potential into concrete partnerships, investments and opportunities.
