Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya announced a partial cabinet reshuffle on Monday, marked by the appointment of five new ministers, including two women, while reappointing Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah to lead the government. The presidential decree was broadcast by state media.
One of the main changes is the creation of the position of Minister Delegate to the President of the Republic in charge of National Defence. The role has been entrusted to Ibrahima Kalil Condé, who leaves his post as Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization.
He will be succeeded by Djenabou Touré, who has been appointed Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization. The reshuffle also includes the appointment of Aboubacar Kourouma as Minister of Industry and Trade, Bintou Keita as Minister of National Education, Literacy, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Lansana Béa Diallo as Minister of Youth, and Fodé Téa Kouyaté as Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development.
Before joining the government, Bintou Keita served as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, while Aboubacar Kourouma was Secretary-General of the Ministry for the Modernization of Public Administration and the Civil Service.
The reshuffle also sees several ministers remain in their current positions, while others take on new responsibilities within the government.
