FIFA has unveiled the first details of the 2026 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony. Scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at New York–New Jersey Stadium, just before the final, the show promises to be one of the highlights of this historic tournament.
Designed as a celebration of the journey of the 48 participating nations, the ceremony will combine music, culture, and football in a spectacular production. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. in France), ahead of the final kick-off at 3:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. in France).
To make the occasion unforgettable, FIFA has assembled a star-studded lineup featuring Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, and content creator IShowSpeed, while Tom Cruise is set to make a special appearance. FIFA also announced that additional artists and distinguished guests will be revealed in the coming days.
The United States national anthem will be performed by Jennifer Hudson, one of the few entertainers to have achieved EGOT status by winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award, adding a symbolic touch to the ceremony.
According to Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the celebration builds on the opening ceremonies held across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Its goal is to bring a fitting conclusion to a tournament jointly hosted by three countries and 16 host cities.
FIFA is encouraging supporters to arrive at the stadium when the gates open at 11:00 a.m. local time to enjoy the pre-match entertainment before the crowning of the new world champion.
