Morocco and Kenya have taken a new step in strengthening their institutional ties.

On Tuesday in Rabat, Mohamed Ould Errachid, President of Morocco’s House of Councillors, and Amason Jeffah Kingi, Speaker of the Kenyan Senate, signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at deepening parliamentary cooperation between the two institutions.

The agreement seeks to enhance dialogue between the two chambers and give fresh momentum to bilateral relations by promoting closer legislative, technical, and institutional collaboration.

The memorandum provides for the development of joint initiatives, action programs, and exchanges of expertise to share best practices in parliamentary work and strengthen the capacities of both institutions.

The two sides also committed to implementing these initiatives through their permanent administrative and legislative bodies, as well as through friendship groups, parliamentary committees, and regional, African, and international parliamentary organizations.

Beyond institutional cooperation, Rabat and Nairobi intend to deepen consultations on issues of common interest by strengthening coordination within regional, continental, and international parliamentary forums, with the aim of building a sustainable and multidimensional partnership.
