The 2026 World Cup is confirming its immense popularity. After the first 36 matches played, stadiums have recorded an exceptional occupancy rate of 99.54%, according to data released by FIFA.

The sixteen venues selected to host the competition are virtually sold out for every match. On average, 64,110 spectators attend each game, bringing total attendance to 2,307,947 people since the start of the tournament.

Halfway through the group stage, the World Cup being held in North America is already on course to set new records.

With its unprecedented 48-team format and a total of 104 scheduled matches, the 2026 edition could become the most attended World Cup in history.
