Benin’s President Romuald Wadagni outlined the main priorities of his government’s action plan during the first Council of Ministers meeting of his term, held with members of the new government, according to an official statement.

The Head of State placed the eradication of extreme poverty and the reduction of regional inequalities at the heart of his priorities. In particular, he intends to strengthen the regionalization of public policies in order to promote more balanced development among the country’s municipalities.

National defense and security also rank among the key pillars of his government’s agenda.

In his address, Romuald Wadagni called on members of the executive branch to accelerate the implementation of reforms and projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the population.
