The draw for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Morocco, has placed the Moroccan team, known as the Atlas Lionesses, in Group A.

Following the ceremony held on Thursday, May 21, Morocco was grouped alongside Germany, Argentina, and New Zealand — three opponents with very different profiles and levels of experience.

Making their second consecutive appearance after reaching the Round of 16 in the previous edition, the Atlas Lionesses will notably face a German side renowned for its strong youth development system and impressive record in youth competitions. Argentina also represents a tough challenge, while New Zealand, a regular participant in FIFA tournaments, relies on a disciplined collective capable of causing surprises.

The 10th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, featuring 24 teams divided into six groups of four.

At the end of the group stage, the top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will qualify for the Round of 16.

The entire competition will be played in Rabat.
