The Moroccan national football team will compete in Group A of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), alongside Gabon, Niger, and Lesotho. The draw was conducted on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo.

A total of 48 national teams will take part in the qualifiers, including the three co-host nations of the final tournament: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

According to CAF, the qualifiers will be played across three FIFA international windows ahead of the final tournament, scheduled from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

The first two matchdays will take place between September 21 and October 6, 2026. Matchdays three and four will be held from November 9 to 17, 2026, while matchdays five and six are scheduled from March 22 to 30, 2027.

The 48 participating teams will be divided into 12 groups of four teams each. The top two teams from every group will qualify for the final tournament. Groups featuring one of the host nations will offer an additional qualifying spot.
