Starting next month, Namibia is set to test a four-day workweek program instead of the usual five days.

According to the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation, the 4-day working week will be introduced in Namibia on a voluntary basis.

Employees will receive the same salary and benefit from the same benefits, but with the same workload.

Namibia will become the second African country to launch the four-day working week initiative, after South Africa last year.

Across the world, several other countries have implemented the four-day work week program, namely Belgium, Germany, Iceland, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
