Ayoub El Kaabi is reportedly at the top of Olympiakos’ priorities, with the club eager to extend his contract.
According to several local media outlets, including ShootandGoal, El Kaabi’s importance was particularly evident during the recent derby against AEK Athens.
In his absence, Olympiakos struggled to be effective in the opponent’s penalty area, despite the activity of their attacking unit, highlighting the key role played by the Moroccan striker in the team’s setup.
The player is expected to return to competition in the coming days. He is approaching this period in a calm frame of mind, ahead of a scheduled meeting with club officials to discuss the terms of a new contract.
According to the same sources, Olympiakos’ management is preparing what is described as a "substantial” financial offer in an effort to convince El Kaabi to continue his journey in the Greek Super League, amid growing interest from several clubs both domestically and across Europe.
Having joined Olympiakos in the summer of 2023 from Al Sadd, Ayoub El Kaabi is nearing the end of his current contract, which is set to expire in June. Since his arrival in Piraeus, he has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in the club’s recent history, scoring 76 goals in 119 appearances across all competitions.
