Zimbabwe’s economy recorded year-on-year growth of 9.64% in the third quarter of 2025, compared with 2.28% over the same period last year, according to the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT).
Speaking at a press conference in Harare, Grown Chirongwe, Head of National Accounts at ZIMSTAT, said the strong performance reflected a broad-based recovery across key sectors of the economy, supported by improved production conditions and increased activity in the manufacturing and services industries.
He noted that the growth rate was largely driven by robust performances in sectors such as mining and quarrying, manufacturing, finance and insurance, wholesale and retail trade, and agriculture.
In a statement released in November, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had already indicated that Zimbabwe’s economic recovery in 2025 was stronger than expected and that the country’s economy would likely maintain solid momentum in 2026.
