The government of Ghana has appointed an eleven-member ministerial committee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The chief of staff at the presidency, Julius Debrah, inaugurated the committee and instructed its members to ensure that Ghana’s potential in investment and tourism is effectively showcased during the tournament.

The committee will be chaired by the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, and will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and coordinating work among ministries as the Black Stars prepare for their fifth World Cup appearance.

It will also oversee the work of an already established technical task force and receive progress reports. Its responsibilities include resource mobilisation, sponsorship development, fan-engagement programmes, and the promotion of Ghana’s image on the international stage.
