CAF Awards 2025. Moroccan international footballer Achraf Hakimi was named African Player of the Year 2025 at the CAF Awards ceremony held Wednesday evening in Rabat. Other major names in both men’s and women’s African football were also honoured.

The event also recognized other individual winners, including Ghizlane Chebbak, captain of the Atlas Lionesses, who won the African Women’s Player of the Year award.

In addition, the goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team and Saudi club Al Hilal, Yassine Bounou, was named Best Goalkeeper in Africa for 2025.

Furthermore, Moroccan forward Othmane Maamma, who plays for Watford, won the Young Player of the Year award. Maamma had previously been named best player of the U20 World Cup held last October in Chile, which was won by the Atlas Lion Cubs.

In the same category, Doha Madani, a player for Moroccan club AS FAR, was named Young Female Player of the Year.

Regarding national teams, the Moroccan U20 team, winners of the Chile 2025 World Cup, was named Men’s National Team of the Year.

The Women’s National Team of the Year award went to Nigeria after winning the latest Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

At the club level, Egyptian side Pyramids FC, reigning champions of the CAF Champions League, was named Club of the Year.

Congolese international Fiston Mayele, a player for Pyramids FC, was crowned Interclub Player of the Year. Finally, Tanzanian Clément Mzize won the Goal of the Year 2025 award.
