Speaking at the MOBEX 2025 African Innovation and Technology Expo in Accra, the country’s capital, Ablakwa stated that the new electronic visa system is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ efforts to modernize Ghana’s diplomatic services in the digital era.

This e-visa system will make it easier for investors, technology experts, and business professionals to visit and work in Ghana, he said.

He also highlighted the broader digital initiatives undertaken by his ministry, including digital consular services for Ghanaians abroad and virtual diplomatic dialogues designed to extend Ghana’s international reach while reducing costs.

Regarding the conference theme, "Resetting Africa’s Digital Identity and Sovereignty,” the minister emphasized the need for Africa to seize the opportunities offered by technology and to leverage digitalization for transformation. He noted that the success of initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) would depend on strong digital connectivity across the continent.
