Niger is preparing to establish a national airline. The announcement was made following a government meeting during which a draft decree was adopted for the creation of a mixed-economy company named Niger Air International.
"In line with the vision of the President of the Republic, particularly the development of production bases for economic sovereignty, the State has decided to create a national airline called Niger Air International,” read the statement from the Council of Ministers.
The same source further specified that "the share capital of this company is primarily held by the State and other public legal entities, with ownership also open to the private sector.”
According to the communiqué, the creation of this airline "aims to ensure both domestic and international connectivity for our country.”
