In Côte d’Ivoire, television remains the most watched medium among the population. This is according to the first audience measurements resulting from the collaboration between the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) and the British group Kantar TNS.
Appointed by HACA to measure media viewership in Côte d’Ivoire, the company has presented its first results.
According to the data, obtained through two waves of surveys conducted from May 6 to 30 and from June 17 to July 8, 2025, 93% of Ivorian households own a television. Only 68% of households own a radio, and 92% have access to digital media.
"Television and digital platforms dominate, each with over 3 hours of daily consumption. Peak television viewership is recorded at 8:00 PM, reaching around 36% of the population, or more than 2 million viewers in June. Viewing takes place mostly at home,” specifies a report cited by the news outlet abidjan.net.
The position of television within the Ivorian media landscape — which has been evolving significantly over the past 10 years — does not surprise any observer. However, the content of the audience measurement may seem a bit limited for those seeking more in-depth data on media audiences in Côte d’Ivoire.
