The Moroccan women’s national football team qualified for the final of the Africa Women Cup of Nations on Tuesday evening at the Rabat Olympic Stadium — their second in a row after the 2022 edition.

The Lionesses of Atlas, who were trailing in the first half before equalizing around the hour mark, displayed iron will and unwavering determination to secure their place in the final, where they will face Nigeria, nine-time African champions. Morocco defeated Ghana in a penalty shootout (4–2 on penalties, 1–1 after extra time).

The Moroccan side remains unbeaten in this tournament, following a draw against Zambia (2–2), an attacking showcase against DR Congo (4–2), a narrow win over Senegal (1–0), and a composed quarterfinal victory over Mali (3–1).

Despite a tough challenge against Ghana, Morocco have earned a highly anticipated final clash with Nigeria — the same team they eliminated in the semi-final of the previous edition.

The final between Morocco and Nigeria, who earlier knocked out South Africa (2–1), will take place next Saturday at Rabat Olympic Stadium.

The third-place match between South Africa and Ghana will be played the day before.
