The Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) has officially announced the opening of the submission period for candidacy applications for the presidential election scheduled for October 25.

Applications can be submitted from July 25 to August 26, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the CEI headquarters located in Abidjan-Cocody, Deux-Plateaux, Carrefour Duncan, Résidence Angoua.

In accordance with Articles 24, 25, 51, 53, 54, and 55 of the Electoral Code, the application file must include, among other documents, a signed and legalized declaration of candidacy, downloadable from the website www.cei.ci. This declaration must specify the candidate’s identity, personal information, possible political endorsement, and the color, emblem, and symbol chosen for the single ballot paper.

The declaration must also include the list of electoral districts where sponsorship was obtained, along with the percentage of voters who provided their support, a birth certificate or court-issued supplementary judgment, a nationality certificate, a criminal record extract, a tax compliance certificate, and a copy of the deposit receipt.

The file must also include, if applicable, a letter of endorsement from the political party or coalition, the list of sponsoring voters, specifying their first and last names, date and place of birth, registration district, voter card number and national ID number, as well as their signature and two black-and-white photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm and 13.0 x 18.0 cm), of good clarity and contrast.

Except for the letter of endorsement and the list of sponsoring voters, all documents must be issued no more than three months before the closing date of candidacy submissions.

For technical reasons, the color, emblem, and symbol chosen for the ballot paper, as well as the photographs, must also be submitted in high-resolution digital format (CMYK – Print format), as specified in the information note.

The CEI urges all stakeholders to strictly comply with the stated requirements in order to ensure a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
