UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged Israel and Iran to “exercise the utmost restraint.”
Following a wave of Israeli airstrikes in Iran, the UN Secretary-General issued a statement through Farhan Haq, one of his spokespersons.
While broadly condemning “any military escalation in the Middle East,” the statement notes that Guterres is particularly concerned about the Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, especially as negotiations were underway between the United States and Iran.
