In a vibrant atmosphere at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, a choral concert was held last week, organized by the UNESCO–Issil Club for Art and Interculturality and the Cultural Representation of the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Morocco.

“This concert is the result of a series of international workshops on vocal technique and choral singing launched in May of last year, 2024. The main goal of this joint initiative is to promote cultural exchange through music, which is why we dedicated our first concert to cultural diversity. It’s important to emphasize that cultural diversity encourages open-mindedness, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue—crucial values for building more peaceful societies,” said Maria Verdu, Director of the UNESCO–Issil Club for Art and Interculturality.

The workshop series was led by Spanish soprano Dolores Delgado, who has extensive international experience. She studied in Spain under the renowned tenor Alfredo Kraus and has taught at several professional conservatories in Spain. Through the Erasmus program and other exchange initiatives, she has taken part in artistic projects in Ecuador, Kosovo, Italy, and Morocco.

Due to the strong interest generated by the initiative, several editions of the workshop have been organized since its launch. As a result, around fifteen people of all ages and various nationalities took to the stage to deliver a brilliant and diverse concert, showcasing the richness of choral music across different musical traditions and cultures from around the world.
