Djibouti has just adopted a National Cybersecurity Strategy for the period 2024–2030, with the objective of achieving digital sovereignty.
This strategy aims to address cybersecurity challenges and ensure the country’s digital sovereignty, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation.
It focuses on five main objectives, including strengthening the institutional framework, combating cybercrime, enhancing cybersecurity and the resilience of state systems and critical infrastructures.
It also includes fighting cybercrime, developing skills and raising awareness, and promoting national collaboration as well as international cooperation.
“The 2024–2030 National Cybersecurity Strategy is a key step in establishing a safe, resilient, and sovereign national cyberspace,” said Djibouti’s Minister of Justice, Ali Hassan Bahdon, during a press conference.
He also stated that regular monitoring will be carried out to assess the effectiveness of the actions taken, and the strategy will be revised as needed to ensure it remains up to date in the face of new digital challenges.
