Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become the first African footballer to score 400 goals in his career, across all competitions.
He scored a brace in Al Qadisiyah’s 4-0 victory over Al-Kholood in the 30th round of the Saudi Pro League in El-Kassia, bringing his total to 14 goals in 28 matches this season.
This 400-goal milestone cements his status as an iconic figure in African football and makes him the first Gabonese player to reach such a feat, reports Gabonreview.
Aubameyang has made a name for himself in several European leagues over the years. He was crowned Bundesliga top scorer in 2016 with 31 goals for Borussia Dortmund. In the Premier League, he finished as joint top scorer in the 2018-2019 season with 22 goals, alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.
More recently, in the 2023-2024 season, the Gabonese international once again stood out, finishing as the top scorer of the Europa League with 10 goals. At 34 years old, the legendary number 9 still has plenty to give. He continues to write the history of the beautiful game and inspire an entire generation of African footballers.
