Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, will host the Digital Economy and Inclusion Conference (AFDEIC) from August 12 to 14.
This event will bring together government officials, business leaders, innovators, and experts to discuss how artificial intelligence, strong digital infrastructure, and inclusive policies can drive the growth of the digital economy in Africa.
The conference, under the theme "AI and Africa’s Digital Economy: Leaving No One Behind," will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in the development of Africa’s digital economy, which is estimated to be worth $180 billion.
The goal is to promote inclusive digital transformation, with an emphasis on equitable access to technology and reducing the digital divide.
The conference will gather political leaders, technology experts, entrepreneurs, representatives of international organizations, and civil society actors. It aims to strengthen cooperation between African countries and promote joint initiatives for the digital development of the continent.
