Starting from May 30, 2025, mobile phone users in Togo and Burkina Faso will be able to communicate freely without roaming charges.

The announcement follows the signing of a free roaming agreement in Lomé between the regulatory authorities for electronic communications in Togo (ARCEP-Togo) and Burkina Faso (ARCEP-BF), in the presence of the respective ministers, Cina Lawson and Aminata Zerbo-Sabane.

This partnership will allow travelers to receive calls free of charge for the first 30 days of their stay abroad and make calls at rates equivalent to the national prices of the visited country.

The agreement also covers internet data and SMS, with a clear goal of facilitating mobility, enhancing regional integration, and providing consumers with transparent and fair billing.

In addition, a partnership agreement between the two regulators has been signed to establish a framework for continuous exchange, strengthening technological and regulatory cooperation.
