His Majesty King Mohammed VI granted an audience, this Monday, April 28, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the three countries of the Alliance of Sahel States.

The audience granted by HM King Mohammed VI to Mr. Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad of Burkina Faso, Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali, and Mr. Bakary Yaou Sangare, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad of the Transitional Government of the Republic of Niger, falls within the framework of the strong and longstanding relations between the Kingdom and the three brotherly countries of the Alliance of Sahel States, which have always been marked by sincere friendship, mutual respect, active solidarity, and fruitful cooperation.

During this Royal Audience, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Alliance conveyed to His Majesty the King the gratitude of their Heads of State for the constant interest shown in the Sahel region, as well as for the Royal actions and initiatives in favor of the economic and social development of the countries of the region and their populations.

The Ministers particularly praised the Sovereign’s Initiative to promote the access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic, reaffirming their full support and commitment to accelerate its implementation.

Furthermore, the Ministers presented to the Sovereign the institutional and operational progress of the Alliance of Sahel States, established as a framework for integration and coordination among its three member countries.
