The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the dates, times, and locations for the matches of the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U20), which will take place from April 27 to May 18, 2025, in Egypt.
This new edition will bring together 13 national teams divided into three groups, across three iconic locations: Cairo, Ismailia, and Suez. The tournament will open in grand style on April 27, with host country Egypt facing Zambia at 9:00 PM at the Cairo International Stadium. Sierra Leone and South Africa will kick off the competition in Ismailia.
The group stage will continue with highly anticipated matchups: Nigeria vs. Kenya and Kenya vs. Morocco at the 30th June Stadium, followed by Senegal vs. Central African Republic and DR Congo vs. Ghana in Suez.
The format consists of three groups (one with five teams and two with four). The top two teams from each group, as well as the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarterfinals. The final is scheduled for May 18, 2025.
The semifinalists will secure their tickets for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Chile 2025, where Africa hopes to shine once again on the international stage.
