Ethiopia and Kenya have signed a memorandum of understanding that will facilitate trade relations between the two countries and enable people living in the border area to access essential daily goods without any supply disruptions.

The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral trade relations and ensure the continuous flow of essential goods for communities living along their shared border.

Kassahun Gofe, Ethiopia's Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, shared on his social media platforms that the memorandum of understanding was signed after two days of discussions.

“We have concluded the border trade negotiations between Ethiopia and Kenya that we started yesterday, and today we signed a memorandum of understanding for implementation with the Kenyan Minister of Trade, Investment, and Industry,” he said.
