Ghana has launched its first 5G network to drive digital transformation and economic growth in the country.
Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stated at the launch that the introduction of the 5G network marks a significant milestone on the path toward a digitally inclusive and transformed Ghana.
The 5G network was built by Next-Gen InfraCo, a consortium of telecommunications service companies that has obtained exclusive rights for 10 years to deploy 5G and 4G infrastructure across Ghana to improve network coverage and reliability in the country.
According to Nana Akufo-Addo, this development represents a leap forward in connectivity to strengthen his country’s vision of becoming a hub for the digital economy.
