Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, was named Finance Minister of the Year in Abidjan during the 2025 edition of the African Banker Awards.

The "Finance Minister of the Year" trophy was awarded to Nadia Fettah during a ceremony held on the sidelines of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings, in recognition of the prudent macroeconomic policies implemented and the reforms undertaken to foster an investment-friendly environment.

The Banker of the Year award went to Patricia Ojangole, Managing Director of the Uganda Development Bank.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was awarded "Central Bank Governor of the Year", and the "Lifetime Achievement Award" was given to Idrissa Nassa, CEO of Coris Bank International (CBI).

The Trade and Development Bank (TDB) of Eastern and Southern Africa received the "African Bank of the Year" award.

The African Banker Awards celebrate excellence and best practices in the African banking and financial sector.
