The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Africa (CCCA) was officially inaugurated in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital.

The primary goal of the new Chinese Chamber of Commerce is to promote broader Sino-African cooperation and contribute to the construction of a closer Sino-African community of shared destiny.

Composed of 15 founding members, the CCCA covers a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, telecommunications, energy, and healthcare. With a projected increase in its membership across both traditional and emerging sectors, the chamber aims to strengthen economic ties and facilitate Sino-African economic cooperation.

The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission to the African Union (AU), Hu Changchun, stated during the inauguration ceremony that this new chamber, under the supervision of his mission, would serve as a gateway to promote shared development between China, Africa, and the Global South.

"The creation of this chamber will help develop better synergies to serve Sino-African economic cooperation and will strengthen our friendship. I sincerely hope that the chamber will welcome more members, work with all stakeholders, and contribute to strengthening economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa," said Hu.

Moussa Mohamed Omar, Deputy Chief of Staff of the AU Commission, stated that the establishment of this chamber within the framework of the Sino-African strategic partnership was a symbol of mutually beneficial cooperation, based on mutual respect and tangible results.

Noting that Chinese companies are actively involved in various development sectors in Africa, including infrastructure, energy, digital infrastructure, and logistics, Mr. Omar pointed out that these companies are making significant contributions to development and job creation in Africa.
