The Maroc Telecom Group and Visa have taken a new step by partnering to deploy innovative mobile payment solutions. This partnership, which extends to all of the operator's African subsidiaries, aims to accelerate financial inclusion and boost digital transformation across the continent.

Maroc Telecom, a key player in telecommunications in Africa, and Visa, a global leader in electronic payments, have just signed a strategic agreement to accelerate the digitalization of financial services on the continent.

The initiative is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which paves the way for extensive cooperation both in Morocco and across all African countries where Maroc Telecom operates.

The first result of this partnership is the integration of Visa payment solutions into MT Cash, Maroc Telecom's Mobile Money platform. Users of this service will now benefit from secure electronic payment methods, with the ability to make money transfers, payments at merchants, and pay for services remotely. This is a significant step forward in daily usage for the millions of subscribers involved.

The goal of this partnership is to strengthen financial inclusion for populations that are still poorly or inadequately served by traditional banking channels, while promoting the transition to a digital economy. By combining its global expertise in payments with Maroc Telecom’s extensive coverage across Africa, Visa aims to play a central role in this dynamic.

This strategic alignment fits into the vision of the Maroc Telecom Group, which sees innovation and technological synergies with leading partners as a lever for development.

For Visa, this is also an opportunity to reaffirm its mission: to make digital payments accessible to all, in safe, simple, and inclusive environments.

With this agreement, the two partners are embarking on a new phase of ambitious cooperation. This phase is expected to stimulate not only the adoption of mobile payments but also the emergence of new financial services tailored to local realities. This alliance promises to have a tangible impact on the economic life of African countries and support their long-term digital transformation.
