The African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) have signed a €20 million funding agreement as part of the AU-EU Partnership Performance Acceleration Program (AUPPAP) to strengthen institutional capacities.

The agreement between the EU and the AU aims to promote integrated development and capacity building in Africa to address challenges in economic growth, digitalization, connectivity, and energy.

Aligned with the AU’s Agenda 2063 and the joint AU-EU vision for 2030, the AUPPAP seeks to accelerate the implementation of strategic projects and enhance institutional capacities. It focuses on key areas such as economic growth, digital transformation, connectivity, and energy.

This two-year program will be structured around jointly defined objectives, in line with the AU’s flagship initiatives and the priorities of the AU-EU partnership.

This initiative reflects the AU and EU’s commitment to strengthening their collaboration for sustainable and inclusive development while reinforcing ties between the two continents.
