Eleven athletes, including two Ethiopians, have secured wild cards for the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.
The winners of the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Tour have earned wild cards for the World Indoor Championships, which will take place in Nanjing, China, from March 21 to 23.
Among the invited athletes are two Ethiopians, Tsige Duguma and Freweneyni Hailu. They have also received a $10,000 bonus for their performances during the competitions, the last of which took place in Madrid last Friday.
Usually, each nation is limited to two athletes per discipline, but these wild cards allow a third competitor to participate, strengthening national teams.
The final selection of athletes is up to each national federation. Additionally, the winners of the 2019 and 2020 editions of the World Indoor Tour, whose performances meet the required standards, will also benefit from these special invitations.
